Bella’s grandma is a master seamstress. This charmed girl gets sewing lessons from her. It’s a wonderful experience making things with love. This patchwork overnight bag turned out so cute! Don’t you agree!?!

The original pattern for this bag came from a kit by Lily and Loom.

Sadly, the kit is no longer available for purchase… so this is a one-of-a-kind patchwork bag using fabric pieces that Bella selected and arranged herself.
There are plenty of similar patchwork quilt bag patterns online. Many of them are free! So be sure to do a quick search to find one that suits you!

Bella’s homeschool program provides funding for the materials she needs for extracurricular activities, so she was able to pick out the fabrics she wanted to create this project. If you are lucky enough to homeschool in California and join an established charter school then you may also receive these educational funds so you can customize a tailored education program that fits the needs of your learner.

There is even funding available for formal classes… and we have talked about Bella taking lessons at the Sewing Arts Center. One day, perhaps. But for now, the patient loving guidance of Grandma with extra time for sewing that goes off the lines and needs to be ripped out and stitched over again is best.

Sewing with Grandma is an opportunity to learn a skill as well as make fond memories to last a lifetime.

Learning to sew with love and laughter.

Who taught you to sew? Lucky Bella will always be able to proudly proclaim, “My Grandma!”
